Making Cookies

It was a rainy weekend, so Greta and I decide to make cookies.  Green snickerdoodles for Easter (to be honest, I was going for blue, but with the yellow butter and eggs, they came out green).  Greta loves helping us bake and cook, and what is more fun than baking cookies?

Yum!

More Random Pics from the Last few Months

These are from our  little point and shoot camera, not Melissa’s fancy rig.  So while they are not quite up to Melissa’s quality standards, many are seriously cute in an absolutely ridiculous way.

This one is actually a bit of a teaser.  Here, she is helping me make pizza dough last night.  But we got some much better pics of her helping make cookies today that we will get up soon.

Ok, I know this is a particularly crappy picture, but it was cute because she was so excited to show the cat her cat ears headband.

Picnic

It was a beautiful spring day, so we took a little hike to a park near our house to have a picnic.

In typical Swiss fashion, we made a little fire and grilled up lunch.

After lunch we played ball out in the field.

Picnics are awesome.

Picnic

We recently discovered a little park near our house that has a big grassy area surrounded by woods where there are a whole bunch of little fire pits for having a cookout -- the Swiss seem to be quite fond of such things.  The weather has been fantastic lately, so we walked over to cook up some sausages and enjoy the day.

Melissa also took some really great pics of Greta walking with her little backpack (or “pa-pa” as she calls it), which I will try to get up soon.

Greta got a new harmonica today -- and she hasn’t stopped playing it all afternoon!

Active Sundays at ETH

Melissa found out about this kids event that is held at my university several Sundays throughout the winter.  Basically, it is a gym filled with pads and matts and balance beams and such arranged in all kinds of crazy and fun ways.  A lot of it was slightly too advanced for Greta (she’s not good at climbing yet), but she managed to run and jump around and find lots of ways to have fun.

Greta Turns 2!

Greta is now two years old!  She got lots of presents, mostly from grandparents and aunt and uncles.  The big theme this year was dress-up clothes.

For her party, we went to a big playground downtown along the lake and invited a few of Greta’s friends to join us for a picnic and cupcakes.  It was a great, simple way to have a no-fuss birthday party.  And it was a gorgeous day, so we had lots of fun.  I especially liked seeing Greta running around screaming with her friends.
